The language we see, hear and use is constantly changing, and as teachers we need to be aware of this dynamic aspect of language even though we’re not in control of it! This webinar takes a historical and contemporary view of language change and the reasons for it, and asks what decisions teachers need to make for their own language awareness and for developing their learners’ language. We will look at a number of examples of English language in use in a range of contexts and explore the lessons which can be learnt, and the lessons which can be created from this fascinating process going on before our eyes and ears.
